Women Masters Handball teams shine with 2 Silver, 1 Bronze at Nationals

JAMMU, Apr 22: In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, the UT’s Women Masters Handball teams delivered an outstanding performance at the 7th Masters National Games held in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, winning two silver medals and one bronze.
In the 30+ category, the team led by International Handball Player and Police Inspector Renu Rattan reached the finals and secured silver after a close match against Kerala (10-7). Team members included Vinay Sharma (Goalkeeper), Sonika Bhandari, Anju Sharma, Sandhiya Bakshi, Sonia Jain, Atula Rajput, Bhavna Devi, Bandana Sharma and Reetu Choudhary (Goalkeeper).
In the 40+ category, led by Mamta Bajaj, the team also won silver, despite a tough 16-6 loss to Kerala. The squad featured Neete Kaur, Mousmi Verma, Meetu Singh, Dr. Sonia Chib, Manu Samriti, Upasana Sharma, Nidhi Pandey, Tanu Banotra, Geetanjali Aggarwal, Santosh Sharma, Anjali Jain and Suman Sharma. The team was coached by Ranjeet Singh Chib and managed by Geetanjali Aggarwal. The 45+ team, again led by Insp. Renu Rattan, earned bronze in a close 5-4 match against Uttar Pradesh.
