Server glitch holds up work at Zirakpur sub-tehsil

Visitors at the sub-tehsil office in Zirakpur had a harrowing time as a technical glitch in the server held up the registration work of more than 80 applicants since morning. Due to the server problem, no registration work was done in the office today.

Officials hoped the matter would be resolved by today evening and normal work would resume by tomorrow. Around 80 applicants were marked today in the morning, but their IDs could not be generated, buyers, sellers and witnesses kept on sitting the whole day, waiting for the portal to resume services but only ended up with frustration in the evening.

More than 100 persons had to endure inconvenience as officials were unable to give a timeframe for resolving the issue and visitors had to wait at the office only.

On March 5, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Financial commissioner (revenue) Anurag Verma had visited the tehsil office to oversee the working of revenue officers. Sources said in February there were an approximately 1,000 mutations pending in the sub-tehsil office, prompting high-profile visits.

To reduce rush and bribery allegations, three counters have now been set up at the tehsil office. Naib Tehsildar Lovepreet Singh, joint sub-registrar Kailash Garg, and joint sub-registrar Mukul Jindal have been appointed recently here.
