3-day remand for accomplice of ‘Insta queen’
Balwinder Singh, alias Sonu, an associate of dismissed woman constable Amandeep Kaur who was arrested with drugs on April 2, was presented in a court here on Tuesday.
The court remanded him in three-day police custody. According to the police, Sonu is linked to a network of drug traffickers. He played a key role in the gang and was Amandeep’s closest aide. The gang was allegedly involved in drug smuggling and supply across the state.
Sonu had fled from the Bathinda court on April 4 after assaulting his wife on the court premises. Eventually, the police managed to arrest him and produced him in the court on Tuesday.
Police officials said Sonu would be interrogated regarding the drug trafficking network and supply chain. Authorities were hopeful that his questioning could lead to major revelations.
