Thane Tragedy: 28-Year-Old Advocate And 19-Year-Old Youth Killed In Separate Bike Accidents In Bhiwandi; FIRs Registered

Thane: Two separate road accidents have been reported in Bhiwandi. A 28-year-old advocate was on his bike and died after being hit by a truck on Vanjarpatti Naka in Bhiwandi on Monday. A case was filed at Nizampura Police Station.

The second incident occurred at Narpoli Police Station, where a 19-year-old man died after being hit by a motorcycle from the opposite direction on Mankoli Road in Bhiwandi.

In the first incident, the deceased has been identified as Vivek Janardhan Gaikwad, 28, who resided in Parivli village in Bhiwandi and practiced as an advocate in the Bhiwandi court and elsewhere.

The incident took place on the Vanjarpatti bridge in Bhiwandi on Monday at 7:45 PM when Gaikwad was on his motorcycle heading to Parivli from Bhiwandi and was hit by a truck from behind, which caused him to fall onto the road. As a result, one car collided in the road accident.

A passerby alerted the police and took him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead upon admission. The driver of the truck has been identified as Jafaruddin Khan, who drove the truck recklessly and hit the biker. The driver was detained and an FIR has been registered against him.

In the second incident, a 19-year-old man identified as Yash Mali, who was on his bike, died after being hit by a motorcycle in Mankoli on April 18. The incident occurred on the Mankoli Dombivli Highway within the jurisdiction of the Narpoli police station, when Mali was on his bike heading home.

An unknown biker hit him, causing him to fall on the road, and the biker fled the scene without providing any medical assistance. The locals alerted the police and took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment. An FIR has been filed against the unknown biker. The police said they have started to probe into the matter.
