UPSC 2024 Toppers: Know Educational Background And Optional Subjects Of Top 5 Candidates
UPSC 2024 Toppers: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2024. The top five candidates this year are three women and two men, all with different academic backgrounds.
Shakti Dubey – Rank 1
Shakti Dubey was the topper of the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2024. The University of Allahabad is where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Political science and international relations were her elective exam subjects.
"I worked hard for many years. I told everyone at home they are all very happy. It was hard to believe at first, but the feeling is slowly sinking in... My brother had predicted I would secure the first rank...," Dubey said, as reported by news agency ANI.
Harshita Goyal – Rank 2
Standing second, Harshita Goyal graduated in Commerce (B.Com) from MS University of Baroda. Similar to the topper, she also chose Political Science and International Relations as the optional subject.
"... I am the first from my family who will become a civil servant. I had immense support from my family. My mother is no more so my father supported me in every way. He took care of the house, my younger brother, and my grandparents. My friends supported me a lot... I want to become an IAS with the goal to bring about a change in people's lives, especially women...," she said, as reported by news agency ANI.
Dongre Archit Parag – Rank 3
Dongre Archit Parag, who holds a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, comes in at number three. He decided to take philosophy as an optional.
Shah Margi Chirag – Rank 4
Shah Margi Chirag, Computer Engineering graduate from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, takes the fourth position. Her optional subject was Sociology.
Aakash Garg – Rank 5
Aakash Garg, who topped the fifth rank, is a B.Tech in Computer Science graduate from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Similar to Shah Margi, he too chose Sociology as his optional subject.
