Wellness Centres Should Be Set Up Near Tourist, Religious & Spiritual Destinations: CM
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief minister Mohan Yadav said here on Tuesday that wellness centres should be established near tourist, religious and spiritual destinations across the state.
He said these centres could help visitors access natural therapies and Panchakarma treatments offered by the AYUSH department.
Addressing a review meeting of the AYUSH department held at the Mantralaya, the CM emphasised that medical tourism was an emerging sector and held immense potential in MP, so along with the health department, the AYUSH department should also play an active role in promoting this sector.
Yadav directed officials to speed up the opening of new Ayurveda colleges under the National AYUSH Mission. He also ordered strict action against unqualified practitioners (quacks) who endangered lives by offering unauthorised treatment in villages.
Air ambulance facility to be expanded: CM
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that air ambulance facility will be expanded in such a way that it can be taken to any accident site.
Arrangements will be made to send seriously injured persons in accidents to medical institutions after taking a decision by the doctor and the collector.
At present, one helicopter and one airplane are available under air ambulance service. Efforts are being made to provide benefit of this facility to the poorest of the poor. In view of future requirements, the availability of the service will be ensured by determining different zones of the state.
The CM was reviewing the work of the Public Health and Medical Education Department in the Ministry. The CM said that the state government has decided to provide hearse to carry bodies from hospitals to homes. The arrangement will begin from districts, which will later be expanded to development block and tehsil level.
CM’s new medical colleges are being started in the state on PPP model. Last year colleges were started in Neemuch, Mandsaur and Seoni. Other such medical colleges will also be started.
The CM directed the department to encourage those who declare organ donation and those who pledge to donate their body in every district. Citizens who pledge to donate their organs and body and their families should be honoured on important occasions.
The CM directed that the services of various retired medical experts should be availed for treatment of citizens in various medical colleges.
