Non-bailable warrants issued against CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
LAHORE, Apr 22: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur was issued a non-bailable warrant on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in violent protests last October in Lahore.
Anti-Terrorism court of Lahore issued a warrant against the Chief Minister for not cooperating with investigating agencies to probe the violence. Besides Gandapur, arrest warrants have also been served to three senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI), including former federal minister Hammad Azhar, Saeed Sindhu, and Shahbaz Ahmed.
Police named these individuals for their involvement in the violent protests during which attacks were made on security personnel. They were summoned several times to join the investigation but failed to comply, Dawn reported.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan had given a call to his supporters to stage protests on October five last year against the government and the judiciary for their partisan approach.
