Shakti's educational background is in science. She did her schooling in Allahabad and then pursued a BSc from Allahabad University. Continuing her interest in the sciences, she did her post-graduation in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2016.
On the surface, her educational trajectory was quite distant from public administration. Yet, her trajectory took a definitive turn in 2018, when she decided to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services, motivated by a deep-seated desire to serve the country.

In a mock interview during her preparation phase, she had said,“This achievement is as much theirs as it is mine,” highlighting the emotional and moral strength her loved ones provided throughout.
