New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 on Tuesday, 22 April 2025. Pune’s Archit Parag Dongre, a B.Tech. graduate, has secured All India Rank three.

As per the press release issued by UPSC, Archit did his B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from VIT, Vellore, and passed the exam with Philosophy as his optional subject.

Archit completed his schooling in Mumbai and hails from Pune, where he pursued his junior college education. After working at an IT firm for a year, he quit his job to focus on preparing for the Civil Services Examination.

Although the UPSC does not release a state-wise merit list, Archit appears to be the highest-ranking candidate from Maharashtra.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday, April 22, announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Candidates who appeared for the exam and cleared all the stages – Prelims, Mains, Interview – can check their results on the official website.

A total of 1009 candidates have been recommended, out of which 335 are from the General category. 109 are from EWS, 318 from OBC, 160 from SC, 87 from ST category. The marks of the candidates will be released about 15 days after the declaration of the result. UPSC Civil Services Exam interviews were conducted till 17 April 2025. The interview round started on 7 January 2025. About 2845 candidates who passed the main examination were called for interview. UPSC had issued recruitment for 1132 posts in services including IAS, IPS under Civil Services Examination 2024. Earlier there were only 1056 vacancies in the original notification but later it was increased to 1132.

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024 took place on June 16, followed by the Main Examination conducted between September 20 and September 29, 2024. The final stage, the interview round, was held from January 7 to April 17, 2025.

The recruitment process includes three key phases: the Preliminary exam, the Main exam, and the Personality Test (Interview). The final merit list is compiled based on candidates’ performance in all three stages.
