Maharashtra News: 9-Month Pregnant Woman Took Her Life At Home In Solapur's Sangola Taluka; Leaves A Heartbreaking Note Behind

Solapur: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Gaigavhan village, located in the Sangola taluka of the Solapur district in Maharashtra, where a woman, who was nine months pregnant, allegedly took her own life at home on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rukmini Suraj Takle, a 21-year-old woman who had recently married and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first child.

The tragic incident happened around 3 PM on Monday, April 21, in the Takle settlement of Gaigavhan, where Rukmini was found hanging in her bedroom, just weeks away from her expected delivery date.

Family members, unaware of her distress, called for Rukmini to join them for dinner but received no response from behind the bedroom door, which was locked. Concerned for her well-being, her brother-in-law, Swapnil Takle, eventually broke a window to check inside, where he discovered the tragic scene of Rukmini's lifeless form.

Preliminary reports from local authorities indicate that Rukmini had hanged herself with a red turban from an iron beam in the ceiling of her home. A note left behind read, "Forgive me, I have no good qualities." Her death has been categorised as accidental, while further investigations are underway.

Rukmini had wed Suraj Sitaram Takle from the same village on March 17, 2024. Just months into their marriage, she became pregnant, with her due date anticipated on April 29, 2025. This sudden loss has left her family and the entire community in a state of shock.

After being examined at the Sangola Rural Hospital, her body was returned to her family later on Monday night after a postmortem was conducted. Police officials from the Sangola division have assured that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
