Delhi to Jaipur in just 2.5 hours, not 6 hours! This expressway to be ready by June… its name is…
Soon another milestone will be added to the list of expressways being built in the country. This expressway is being built to connect Delhi to the Pink City Jaipur and will be ready by June. This expressway will reduce distance between the two cities to just 2.5 hours. Currently it takes more than 6 hours to travel from Delhi to Jaipur.
NHAI has informed that the stretch between Bandikui and Jaipur Ring Road is almost ready. After this, one can reach Jaipur directly via Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The new 67-km link road connecting the expressway to Jaipur will be ready by June, after which the travel time will be reduced to half as compared to now. The journey from Delhi to Jaipur can be completed in just two and a half hours, because on this expressway, vehicles are allowed to drive at a speed of 120 kmph.
To go from Delhi to Jaipur, vehicles have to take the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from Gurugram and Faridabad entry point, which goes up to Dausa district. But, to go to Jaipur from here, one has to go through the old NH-21 route. This 4-lane highway passes through many small towns and villages. Therefore, there is traffic jam at most places on it. Also, it takes 2 to 3 hours to cover a distance of about 100 km from Dausa to Jaipur.
The Bandikui-Jaipur link road being built is about 67-km. This will be about 33 km shorter than the current route. Also, vehicles will be able to keep up to a speed of 120-km. This means that now passengers will not have to leave the expressway midway, but will be able to travel directly from Delhi to Jaipur.
NHAI is not only building a link road between Bandikui and Jaipur, but has also made arrangements to go directly to Jaipur from Delhi’s DND flyover and not take the Gurugram way. This means that there will be no need to go to Gurugram and Faridabad. An overbridge is also being built on the Delhi-Ahmedabad railway line. NHAI officials say that a one kilometer stretch road will also be built, so that one can reach this link road directly from the expressway.
