Vance Family Receives Vibrant Welcome At Jaipur's Amber Fort: Watch

US Vice President JD Vance reached Jaipur's Amber Fort on Tuesday with Second Lady Usha Vance and their children. The Vances received a vibrant welcome with cultural performances and embellished elephants as they walked down the red carpet. 

In Jaipur, Vance will deliver a lecture later in the day on US-India relations at Rajasthan International Centre. 

On Wednesday, Vance will visit Agra and return the same day to Jaipur as he is scheduled to visit the City Palace here.

The elephants that welcomed the Vances were trained at Hathi Gaon near Amber for their event.

A UNESCO world heritage site, Amber Fort was closed to visitors for 24 hours from 12 noon on Monday, an official of the state's Department of Archaeology said.

The 16th-century fort which is one of the top tourist attractions of the Pink City sits atop a small hill, about 11 km from the main city.

Security Beefed Up In Jaipur

Tight security arrangements have been put in place places across the state capital for the visit. The security preparations were reviewed by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday, a Rajasthan government official told PTI. 

JD Vance arrived in India on Monday along with his family on his maiden trip to the country. He was received by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Palam airport. 

The Vice President met Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi as the two leaders held held wide-ranging talks to enhance cooperation in areas of defence, energy and technologies. The PM hosted the Vance family over dinner at his 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence after the official talks.
