Campus notes: Orientation Programme at academy
An Orientation Programme was held for the parents of classes Nursery to V and IX to XII on 19th April, 2025, at Darshan Academy, Ludhiana. It was a productive morning that allowed parents and teachers to interact meaningfully. The major objective of the programme was to create awareness among parents and students regarding both academic and non-academic aspects of the course, while emphasising the importance of parental involvement in monitoring student performance and progress. The school Principal, Ms Rajdeep Kaur Aulakh, warmly welcomed the parents and assured them of the school’s commitment to their child’s holistic growth and development. The philosophy of the school, teaching methodologies, evaluation policies, scholarship information, sports achievements, parenting and health tips were also shared during the session. The programme witnessed the gracious presence of 150 parents and stood as a sincere initiative by the school to educate and guide parents towards supporting their children’s educational journey.
Easter Celebration at CTU
The Easter celebration, organised by the Department of Student Welfare, brought the CTU community together in a vibrant display of unity and festive spirit. Easter is celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolising hope, renewal, and eternal life. It’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and joy, uniting people in the spirit of love and togetherness. Pro Chancellor Dr Manbir Singh shared, “Easter reminds us of the values of compassion, forgiveness, and love. At CT University, we strive to nurture these values in our students, empowering them to make a positive impact in the world.” Director, Student Welfare, Er Davinder Singh added, “The Easter celebration is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, share joy, and reflect on the true spirit of the festival. We’re grateful for the enthusiasm and participation of our CTU community.”
Earth Day at SAV Jain College
Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Hariawal Punjab, celebrated Earth Day, reinforcing a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. Under the patronage of the NSS Unit and the college’s Eco Club, a wide-scale plantation drive was organized at both the college and Shree Atam Vallabh Public School campuses. The event was graced by Sh. Harsh Garg, who generously donated and planted saplings. The initiative was further enriched by a poster-making competition and an on-the-spot writing competition, both based on the powerful theme “Heal the Earth, Heal Ourselves.”
IP Workshop at GNDEC
To foster innovation and enhance knowledge, IPMCC GNDEC, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, successfully conducted a workshop titled: “IP Blueprint: Navigating Intellectual Property”, in celebration of World IP Day. The workshop brought together industry experts, IP practitioners, innovators, and academicians to discuss the critical role of intellectual property in the current competitive landscape. Dr Divya Kaushik, Patent Scientist at PSCST, shared insights into different types of IP and various real-world case studies. Dr Ruchi Singla, Director at RAS Intellect Solutions, Mohali, provided valuable input on filing and protecting IP. Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director, Technology & Marketing and IPR Cell, PAU Ludhiana, elaborated on the commercialisation aspects of IP. Dr Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC, appreciated the initiative and assured full support for IP protection.
Graduation ceremony
DCM Young Entrepreneurs School (DCM YES) celebrated the graduation of students from Prep II, Stage 2, and Grade 2 with a vibrant ceremony full of music, dance, and joyful performances. The event marked a significant milestone in the students’ educational journey and showcased their creativity, confidence, and growth. Parents and faculty gathered to witness the celebration, highlighting DCM YES’s focus on holistic development. The young graduates impressed with their musical and dance talents, reflecting the school’s innovative approach to learning. Principal Meenu Chopra expressed pride in the students, stating, “This ceremony celebrates our young learners’ creativity and growth. We believe in nurturing children to explore their potential holistically.” The graduation event stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to shaping confident and well-rounded individuals prepared for future academic adventures.
No Bag Day observed
Green Land Convent School, Ludhiana, observed “No Bag Day” for Classes VI–VIII under the theme “Work with Life Forms,” promoting experiential learning and environmental awareness. Class VI students participated in a School Kitchen Garden Project, planting herbs, vegetables, and flowers while learning about organic farming and composting. The hands-on activity deepened their connection with nature and taught sustainability. Classes VII and VIII joined a Clay Modelling Workshop, creating bird bowls and pottery pieces to raise awareness about animal care during summer. The initiative fostered creativity and compassion, blending art with environmental consciousness. Chairman Dr Rajesh Rudhra and Principal Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara praised the students’ creativity and emphasized the importance of hands-on learning and empathy. The day became a memorable experience of joy, creativity and purpose, leaving a lasting impression on students through their interaction with nature and thoughtful action.
