Bhuttico commended for bolstering cooperative movement in Himachal
The Regional Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Bhupender Mandvi, commended Bhuttico for its exemplary role in strengthening the cooperative movement. Speaking as the chief guest at the Thakur Ved Ram National Awards ceremony for here today, Mandvi emphasised how such recognitions inspire others to excel in their fields. He also noted that the NCDC frequently organises similar events to bolster the cooperative sector.
The officer highlighted the importance of programmes that promote the cooperative movement, adding that the awardees will spread awareness of Bhuttico’s achievements within their communities. He pointed out that the government actively supports such initiatives to encourage the growth of cooperative societies. He further praised Bhuttico for its efforts in presenting international and national awards, urging other established cooperatives in the region to follow suit.
Satya Prakash Thakur, Bhuttico chairman and former minister, thanked the awardees and other guests. Reflecting on Bhuttico’s journey, he highlighted its unwavering commitment to product quality, which has earned the trust of both domestic and international markets. He noted that the Thakur Ved Ram National Awards are a tribute to Bhuttico’s founder and a celebration of remarkable contributions across various fields, including literature, art, culture, journalism, cooperative societies, handicrafts and handloom.
Shambhu Prasad Ghimre, an international awardee from Nepal expressed his admiration for Bhuttico during his visit. He pledged to apply the lessons learned to help Nepal’s cooperative societies reach similar heights.
Pankaj Bhargav, awarded for Excellence in Electronic Media, spoke about the challenges posed by emerging technologies like AI. He praised Bhuttico’s commitment to preserving Himachal’s cultural heritage through the promotion of handloom products, particularly the iconic Kullu shawls and caps, which have become an identity of Himachal worldwide.
Satpal Bhatnagar from Kullu, honoured with the Lifetime Achievement National Award, lauded Bhuttico’s Chairman, describing him as a visionary leader essential to national development. Aditya Kant Sharma of the Statesman, Chandigarh, awarded in the Print Media sector, shared his emotional connection with Bhuttico, having witnessed its growth since childhood. Other awardees also expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the cooperative’s role in recognising their contributions.
