Simhastha Mahaparv 2028: Kisan Sangharsh Samiti To Launch Massive Stir Against Land Pooling Scheme

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The farmers affected under the land pooling scheme of Ujjain Development Authority in view of Simhastha Mahaparv-2028 plan to intensify their agitation.

As the last date for submitting objections and suggestions to the UDA approaches, their agitation is gaining momentum. The ‘Kisan Sangharsh Samiti’ intends to launch a massive agitation in Ujjain soon against the government move.

On Monday, the affected farmers held a meeting at Gayatri Mandir, Murlipura which was also attended by the representatives of Bhim Army, besides Congress MLA Mahesh Parmar and others. During deliberations, they took updates about how many affected farmers had submitted their objections to the UDA and how many were still to do so..

They also reviewed the participation of affected farmers, their engagement in wedding season and next course of action. A representative from Bhim Army said that they would not only extend full support to the agitation, but also raise the issue in the next Lok Sabha session.

MLA Parmar said that the agitation was purely non-political and was not against the Simhastha fair but against the conspiracy to illegally and forcibly acquire the land of hundreds of farmers in the Simhastha camp sites.

He said that Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jitu Patwari was in constant touch with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the party was fully ready to support the farmers. The representative of Janhit Party also extended full support to the agitation.

He said that if the land pooling scheme of the UDA was executed, it would mar the future of about 1800 affected farmers and 10000 of their dependents.

A spokesman of ‘Kisan Sangharsh Samiti’ told reporters that a massive agitation would soon be launched in Ujjain against the introduction of what he called anti-farmer, anti-Sanatan and anti-Simhastha move of the state government.

According to him, the affected farmers had been busy filing objections against the scheme to the UDA under the second phase. This process would continue till the final gazette publication of the scheme during the next two to three months.

Even if the authorities do not retract, they would challenge the scheme in the high court. In a bid to let good sense prevail among the local officers and authorities, the agitating farmers along with their family members would present a memorandum to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlingam on Wednesday at 7 am.
