Truck Filled With Moong Seized 10 Days Ago, Action Yet To Be Taken
Pipariya (Madhya Pradesh): Ten days have passed since the officials of the district administration seized a truck filled with Moong (green gram) but without any valid papers. But they have yet to take any action against the guilty.
According to reports, a truck loaded with Moong (green gram) but without valid papers was allowed to go from the government warehouse in Machhera Kalan area.
The officials of the revenue department parked truck on the Bankhedi police station premises.
An inquiry into the incident is underway.
MP from Narmadapuram Darshan Singh Choudhary has asked the district administration to complete the probe and act against the guilty.
But the officials are trying to give a new twist to the truck episode. They said the government had issued the tender for the sale of Moong to a private company in Rajgarh.
On the other hand, a few traders of Pipariya and Bankhedi are selling Moong after collecting it from the government warehouse. One such trader may have sold the truckload of Moong, which the officials seized.
Manager of warehouse, Shailesh Patel, said trucks were filled with Moong the day the vehicle was caught. Nevertheless, the seized truck was not filled with Moong at his warehouse, Patel said.
The truck driver told the officials it had been loaded at the government warehouse in Machhera-Kalan. A team of revenue department, led by Tehsilder Alka Ekka, caught it.
When she asked the truck driver to show papers, he failed. The truck driver told the officers that he got the truck filled with Moong at the government warehouse.
Sub-divisional magistrate of Pipariya, Anisha Shrivastava, is inquiring into the case. She said she had written to the district administration about the incident, demanding an FIR against the guilty.
According to her, the procurement of Moong by a company was just a fake story.
RM of Warehousing Corporation Atul Sorthe said the officials conducted an inquiry into the case after receiving instructions from the headquarters. During the inquiry, it came to light that 62 bags of Moong were less than expected, he said.
