MP Shocker: Youth With Hearing And Speech Disability Arrested For Raping 8-Year-Old Minor In Katni
Katni (Madhya Pradesh): A man with hearing and speech disabilty has been arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district, on Monday.
The incident took place in a village under Dhimarkheda police station limits on Sunday
22-year-old accused sexually assaulted the girl
According to Women police station in-charge Manju Sharma, The incident took place on Sunday when the victim who was staying with her maternal grandparents was alone in a nearby field. Her grandmother had gone to fetch water, during which the 22-year-old accused sexually assaulted the girl.
Accused fled
On hearing the child's screams, her grandmother rushed back and found the man committing the crime. When the woman raised an alarm, he fled.
A case was filed after the child's kin registered a complaint at Silondi post of Dhimarkheda police station," Sharma said.
Accused charged with BNS & POCSO
The man with hearing and speech disability has been arrested and charged under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) section 65 (2) (rape) as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The child was rushed to a nearby district hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
