New Mexico teen, detained for 'illegal' US entry, spends 10 days in immigration custody before release

A New Mexico teenager, Jose Hermosillo, an American citizen, was wrongly detained by immigration officials in Arizona for ten days. Arrested near Nogales on April 8th, he was accused of illegally entering the U.S. from Mexico. Despite his family providing proof of citizenship, Border Patrol agents initially disbelieved him. DHS claims Hermosillo initially stated he entered the U.S.
