Hooliganism by SUV riders: Bike rider thrashed badly in Gurugram

Four men riding an SUV stopped a group of bike riders in the middle of the expressway, beat them up and broke one of their bikes. A bike rider, who has sustained severe injuries, has been admitted to a hospital.

The hooliganism was captured in CCTV cameras and a video of the incident also went viral on social media, in which two men can be seen thrashing a biker.

According to the complaint filed by the injured biker, Hardik Sharma, a resident of Sector 46, Gurugram, he met his biker friends at Cyber City near Ambience Mall on Sunday morning and they set out to go to Pachgaon.

“We were riding slowly towards Manesar toll when a black Scorpio started driving rashly and tried to disturb us. We stopped on the side under Dwarka expressway to let them go, but they stopped their vehicle in front of us. There were four people in the car and they were drunk. They started hitting us and destroying our bikes. I survived because of my helmet. When they saw a lot of people had gathered, they ran away. Before leaving they threatened me with dire consequences,” Sharma said in his complaint.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against the four unknown accused under relevant Sections of the BNS at Sector 37 police station on Sunday.

“The injured bike rider has been sent home after medical treatment. Based on his statement, the police have started searching for the car. All the accused have been identified and raids are being conducted to nab them,” said a spokesperson of Gurugram police.
