Maharashtra News: CIDCO Housing Allottees Meet Deputy CM Eknath Shinde In Satara, Seek Price Reduction
Navi Mumbai: In a significant development, a core committee of 32 CIDCO housing allottees visited Dare village in Satara to meet Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, urging him to intervene and reduce the increased prices of 26,000 CIDCO homes.
For the past one and a half months, allottees have been staging protests and submitting memorandums to various government officials, including ministers, MLAs, MPs, and CIDCO authorities, seeking relief from the steep housing rates.
Despite multiple representations and aggressive demonstrations under the leadership of MNS spokesperson Gajanan Kale, the state government and CIDCO administration had not taken concrete action to lower the prices.
With the deadline to pay the confirmation amount drawing near, anxious and distressed allottees escalated their efforts. The delegation met the Deputy CM and explained the entire issue in detail, appealing for a rollback in the housing prices.
Responding to the concerns, Deputy CM Shinde contacted CIDCO Managing Director Vijay Singhal during the meeting and instructed him to immediately halt the current process. He further directed Singhal to explore options to reduce the housing rates.
In a hopeful move, Shinde is also informed to have advised MD Singhal to personally meet with representatives of the allottees, including Sumit Sathe, Pradnya Rawal, Mahesh Shegar, and others, to discuss the matter in detail.
