Charu Asopa Slams Rajeev Sen Over Claim Of Talking To His Friend Behind His Back: 'Maine Kya Baat Ki Mujhe Bhi Pata Chale'

Television actor Charu Asopa has hit back at ex-husband Rajeev Sen’s recent claims about her alleged interactions with his close friend, calling his statements vague and unfounded. Rajeev, brother of Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen, had accused Charu of speaking to his best friend behind his back — a charge she has now publicly questioned in a video posted on her YouTube channel.

Charu reacts to Rajeev Sen's accusations

Charu, choosing not to respond with counter-allegations, instead challenged Rajeev to share specific details. She said, "Ek comment mere baare mein aaya tha ki mujhe apne kisi dost se baat karte hue range haath pakda. Toh pehle toh mujhe yeh comment hi bada ajeeb laga ki ‘dost se baat karte hue range haath pakda’. Jab aapne range haath pakda toh aapko pata hoga ki maine kya baat ki (There was a comment made about me saying I was caught red-handed talking to one of your friends. First of all, I found that very strange, ‘caught red-handed just for talking to a friend’? If you caught me ‘red-handed’, then surely you know what I said, right)?

Continuing her clarification, she asked, “Toh batao, maine kya baat ki, kyunki mujhe bhi pata chale. Jab aapne ‘range haath pakda’ toh mai aapke dost se kya baat kar rahi thi? Aur jis dost se baat kar rahi thi, uska naam toh batao mujhe. Kis dost se baat kar rahi thi mai aapke? Toh hawa mein nahi baat karni chahiye; sab hawa mein baat karte hain (So tell me what I said; I’d like to know too. If you ‘caught me red-handed’, what exactly was I saying to your friend? And tell me the name of the friend I was talking to. Who is this ‘friend’? One shouldn’t make baseless statements; everyone just speaks without facts)."

What Rajeev Sen had said

Earlier, Rajeev Sen had alleged in a Times of India interview that he saw Charu interacting with his friend of 20 years during a New Year’s gathering. He also claimed that her decision to follow the friend on Instagram further upset him, suggesting it crossed a boundary. In the same interview, he accused Charu of playing the “victim card,” and downplayed her claims of financial hardship.

Charu recently shifted to her hometown Bikaner with daughter Ziana. While some reports suggested it was due to financial strain, Charu clarified her reasons, stating, “The money I am paying in Mumbai as rent can be EMI in a place like Bikaner, where I can soon own the house. I want a stable house for Ziana. I can’t always live on rent. I want to give her a stable school life. Here, in Bikaner, my daughter can live with their grandparents and not nannies when I am away for work.”

Rajeev and Charu were married in 2019 and became parents to daughter Ziana in 2021. They officially parted ways in 2023 after a highly publicised separation.
