Hyundai India Records Milestone: 2 Out of Every 3 Cars Sold Are SUVs in FY 2024-25
Hyundai Motor India has recorded a strong shift in customer buying patterns for FY 2024-25, with SUVs now making up 68.5% of its total domestic sales—a notable rise from 63.2% the year before. This growing demand highlights Hyundai’s dominance in the SUV space, supported by a wide range that includes models like the Exter, Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, and the all-electric Ioniq 5. Adding to the trend, over half of Hyundai’s customers—53.2%—now opt for vehicles with sunroofs, reflecting a clear move towards more premium features in mass-market segments.
Commenting on the performance, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “FY2024-25 has been a landmark year for Hyundai Motor India. The fact that two out of every third vehicle sold by us in India was an SUV is a testament to our deep understanding of Indian customers and our commitment to delivering innovation, safety and style. The doubling of ADAS variant contribution and growing popularity of sunroof-equipped models reflects the rising aspirations of our customers and their readiness to embrace global technologies. We shall continue to march forward with a focus on customer delight, offering products that are future-ready, feature-rich, and engineered for India.”

Hyundai Motor India is steadily raising the bar by offering more high-tech features across its vehicle lineup, especially in SUVs. Reflecting growing customer demand for premium features, sunroofs are now available in 12 of Hyundai's 14 models. The company has also seen a big rise in the popularity of ADAS-equipped variants, with their share more than doubling from the previous year—going up from 6.7% to 14.3% in FY2024-25. This shift shows that Indian buyers are increasingly valuing advanced safety and driver assistance systems. Hyundai currently offers ADAS technology in nine models, underlining its push toward smarter and safer mobility.
Hyundai Motor India continues to offer customers a wide range of powertrain and transmission choices, ensuring there's something for every type of driver.
