Maharashtra CM defends education policy as panel seeks withdrawal of Hindi clause
The language consultation committee in Maharashtra has requested Chief Minister Fadnavis to reconsider making Hindi a mandatory third language for students in classes 1 to 5. Despite concerns about Hindi imposition, Fadnavis assured that Marathi will remain compulsory. He highlighted that the New Education Policy encourages learning three languages, with two being Indian languages, and Hindi teachers are readily available.
