Raisen Road Rash: 6 Dead, Bride-Groom Injured After Traveller Bus Overturns & Falls Into 10-Feet Ditch On Bhopal-Jabalpur Road
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As many as six people died and three sustained severe injuries in a horrific road accident on National Highway 45 (Bhopal-Jabalpur Road) in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. The accident occurred on Sunday late at night near Bamhori Dhaba, when a traveller bus arrying a bride, groom and other family members lost control and fell into a 10-foot-deep ditch.
The deceased have been identified as Mohanlal Kuril, son of Mahavir Prasad (68); Chanda Devi, daughter of Mohanlal (60); Narendra, son of Balaram Chopra (30); Sarita, wife of Ravi Kholwal (25); Tasvi, alias Chinu (2); and driver Sunil.
The injured include groom Deepak Chopra, his bride Sangeeta (25) and his brother-in-law Ravi Kholwal.
All the 9 people in the vehicle are said to be residents of the Chandannagar area of Indore. They were returning in a traveller bus from the wedding ceremony in Patna, Bihar. As they reached near Bamhori Dhaba in Raisen, the driver lost control over the wheels, and the vehicle fell in a 10-foot-deep ditch. Six people, including a two-year-old girl, died on the spot.
Commuters informed the police, and a team of cops reached the spot .
The injured bride and groom and the groom's brother-in-law were rushed to Raisen District Hospital.
