Will Aamir Khan ditch the gentle teacher persona in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’? Here’s what the actor has to say

It is safe to say that Taare Zameen Par is a film that hits you right where it hurts, triggering a cascade of tears. The movie about the dyslexic eight-year-old with a talent for art, nurtured by his art tutor, earned actor Aamir Khan much praise, particularly as it marked his directorial debut in the industry.
Now, after multiple delays, the sequel to the film, Sitaare Zameen Par will hit theatres soon. It was earlier revealed by the actor that the movie’s storyline will not continue from its prior, but it will thematically remain the same. In a recent interaction with his China fan club, Khan shared details about the plot and his character.

“It is about people who are differently abled. It is about love, friendship and life. Taare Zameen Par made you cry but this film will make you laugh. It’s a comedy but the theme is the same,” he said.
"My character in Taare Zameen Par was Nikumbh, who is a very sensitive person. In this film my character’s name is Gulshan but his personality is exactly opposite to Nikumbh. He is not sensitive at all. He is very rude, politically incorrect and he insults everybody. He fights with his wife, mother. He is a basketball coach and he beats up his senior coach. He is a person with a lot of internal problems, and the story is how he changes with the film. How these people in the spectrum teach him what it is to be a good human being,” Khan explained.
