PM to lead global media dialogue at WAVES Summit in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the global media dialogue during the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), scheduled to be held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4.

According to official sources, Modi will also lay the foundation for establishing India as a global media and entertainment hub, aligned with his vision of “Create in India, Create for the World”.

WAVES is being positioned as a global platform to connect creators, encourage international collaboration and showcase India’s creative potential. The summit will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, startups, tech companies and investors for four days of networking and exchange.

The event will feature global media dialogues, buyer-seller meets, pitch sessions for emerging creators and showcases of new-age storytelling formats. Key focus areas include virtual production, AI-driven storytelling, sustainable content creation and international content partnerships.

“As AI-driven storytelling, virtual production and green digital content transform the media and entertainment sector, WAVES is taking the PM’s vision beyond boundaries through a global platform fostering global collaborations,” an official statement said.

The summit also aims to shape industry standards, share best practices, mentor young talent and unlock funding for creative enterprises with global reach.
