Minister flags off cyclothon yatra

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana flagged off a cyclothon yatra from Seth Jai Parkash Polytechnic in Damla village, Yamunanagar, on Saturday.

Under the series of “Haryana Uday Outreach” programmes, the cyclothon yatra reached here covering several districts of the state with a message to make drug-free Haryana.

During yatra, “lota” and salt became the main centre of attraction for the citizens. The youngsters took a pledge to make drug-free Haryana by putting salt in the lota.

Officials described this as a unique initiative of the Haryana Government as it was helping in bringing a positive change along with the upliftment and welfare of society. The minister said the cyclothon, started by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Hisar on April 5, would cover the entire state with a social message of drug-free Haryana.

He encouraged the youth power to play an active role in eradicating social evils from society.
