Relevance of Dhanna Bhagat’s teachings even greater today: CM

Remembering Dhanna Bhagat, a mystic poet and saint of the Bhakti movement, on his anniversary, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said at a time when society faces numerous social and moral challenges, the relevance of Dhanna Bhagat teachings and message is even greater.

The Chief Minister attended a function organised at Palwan village of Jind district. Dadan khap honored him with a traditional turban on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, CM Saini said the government had introduced several schemes for the upliftment of saints and farmers. He added that the birth anniversaries of all saints were being celebrated. “To pass on his teachings to future generations, the Dhanna Bhagat Public School has been established in Kurukshetra,” he informed.

CM Saini urged people to imbibe the ideals of Dhanna Bhagat in their lives. He said by following the saint’s path, we all should contribute to building a better society and a stronger nation. He said Dhanna Bhagat’s personality was as serene and luminous as the full moon. A disciple of the revered Saint Ramanand Acharya, who played a key role in promoting the Bhakti Movement across North India, Dhanna Bhagat carried forward this mission with such fervour that he came to be recognized as a pioneer of the movement in Rajasthan, he said.
