Municipal Corporation to rent out 21 shops in Yamunanagar’s auto market
Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has made preparations to rent out 21 shops built at the auto market of Chandpur Colony in Yamunanagar. The MCYJ will organise a programme at the auto market on April 23 to rent out these shops through open bidding. Only vehicle repair work would be done in this auto market.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said in all, 42 shops were to be built in the Chandpur auto market. He said in the first phase, 21 shops had been built in this market.
According to information, vehicle repair shops are being run in a number of markets of the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. There are hundreds of such shops near the residential areas in Rampura Colony, on the road leading from Pyara Chowk to Fountain Chowk, on the road heading from Agrasain Chowk to Buria Chowk, Old Hamida Colony and several other parts of the twin cities.
Most mechanics encroach roads to undertake repair work of vehicles, causing traffic jams in a number of areas of the twin cities.
“Shops have been built at Chandpur auto market under the Auto Market Project. After shifting mechanics shops to the auto market, people will get relief from the problems of encroachment and traffic jams in the twin cities. Drivers and owners will be able to buy spare parts and get their vehicles repaired at one place in the market,” Sinha said.
He said traders, who would run these shops and their workers, would get facilities of clean drinking water, drainage, toilets and sheds in the auto market. “Under the Auto Market Project, markets are proposed at three places in the twin cities. Among these, an auto market is being built at Chandpur at a cost of Rs 3.16 crore, which will have a total of 42 shops. Here, the construction of 21 shops has been completed in the first phase,” said Sinha. He said besides Chandpur, auto markets were to be built at Gulab Nagar and at Gadhauli village at a cost of Rs 19.65 crore. He said the process of leasing out 21 shops of Chandpur auto market had been started.
“The shops will be given on rent through open bidding in the auto market on April 23. The monthly rent of a shop will be Rs 21,110. An interested person will have to deposit a security amount of Rs 50,000 to get a shop on rent,” Sinha said.
