Man held for murder of wife, son, sent to two-day police remand

The Dhand police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife and son. The accused has been identified as Ajay, alias Ajju, a resident of Barot village. He was arrested by the Dhand SHO, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar along with his team members and with the cooperation of CIA-1.

Giving details, a spokesperson of the Police Department said Sagar, a resident of Dhauna village, stated in his complaint that his sister Sudesh was married to Ajay. Sagar alleged that Ajay used to frequently assault his sister and had even threatened her, saying that if she informed her family about the abuse, he would kill her and their son Simrat as well.

On April 16, the family received a call informing them that Ajay had physically assaulted Sudesh and she was admitted to a hospital. When they reached the government hospital in Kaithal, they learnt that Ajay had allegedly slammed his son Simrat to the ground, killing him on the spot, and assaulted Sudesh with a brick, leading to her death as well.

A case was registered at the Dhand police station in this connection. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had a violent and short-tempered nature. He frequently used to thrash his wife. The motive behind murders was reportedly Sudesh informing her family about Ajay’s abusive behaviour, which enraged him. Driven by this grudge, Ajay committed double murder. The accused was produced in a court on Sunday, where the police secured his two-day remand for further investigation, the spokesperson.
