Briefs: Rs 4.2-cr drugs seized, 1 held
Faridkot: The Moga police on Sunday claimed to have arrested Vicky Arora of Bhim Nagar and seized 24,000 tramadol tablets from his car. A subsequent raid on a godown led to the seizure of 2,80,800 tramadol tablets, 8,75,900 pregabalin capsules, 4,500 bottles of Codeine syrup and Rs 52,500 drug money. The total drug seizure is valued at Rs 4.2 crore. TNS
1.29 kg heroin seized
Ferozepur: Sleuths of 155 battalion of the BSF nabbed a smuggler and seized 1.29 kg heroin from him in a joint operation with the Punjab Police. After the seizure of the packet, a joint search operation was conducted with the Punjab Police, during which another packet of heroin and a motorcycle were seized near the same house, from where the earlier packet had been seized. oc
Fire at power sub-station
Muktsar: A major fire broke out at the 132kV power sub-station on the Bathinda road in Malout town on Sunday afternoon, disrupting power supply to Malout and some nearby areas. Within minutes, a thick cloud of smoke engulfed the town. The exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. TNS
