MP shocker: Viral video shows Chhatarpur doctor slapping, dragging 77-year-old bystander at hospital

The video of a doctor attacking a bystander at the Madhya Pradesh hospital has caused a public uproar | X

An FIR was registered against a doctor after a viral video showed him assaulting a 77-year-old bystander in Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh. The shocking video, reportedly shot by an onlooker, showed the senior citizen being dragged through the hospital by two men. One among the two, reportedly the doctor, briefly climbs over the septuagenarian to slap him across the face, the viral video showed.

 

According to local media reports, the incident happened at the Chhatarpur Civil Hospital on April 18, Friday. The senior citizen was at the hospital with his ill wife when he was assaulted by the doctor identified as Rajesh Mishra. The visuals also caught a man interfering to talk some sense into the doctor and prevent him from further attacking the victim. 

 

After the horrible incident's visuals went viral Dr Mishra was booked under sections 115 (2,), 296,3 (5), 351 (3) of the BNS by the Nowgong police.

 

Local media reports identified the victim as Uddhav Singh Joshi, who was at the Civil Hospital's OP Department with his ailing wife. He told the media that he patiently waited in the queue for a long time after getting his OP ticket. When his turn came, Dr Mishra walked out as he was annoyed with the long line of patients remaining to be attended to. The angry doctor needlessly assaulted him, he alleged. Meanwhile, the hospital authorities reportedly told the press that an argument broke out after Uddhav Singh Joshi tried to cut the line. However, an enquiry was launched against the accused doctor as it was no excuse for manhandling a senior citizen. 

 

The FIR was registered amidst cries for the removal of Rajesh Mishra from the government health facility became louder. There was no credible information about the other man involved in the incident during the time of compiling this report.
