Pakistan embarrassed by Saudi Arabia, the reason will shock you! Many Pakistanis with valid visa caught…, Riyadh arrests and deports …

New Delhi: Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has reported that Saudi Arabia has arrested and deported over 4,700 Pakistani beggars. These individuals went to Saudi Arabia on various visas and were begging illegally there. They were detained by Saudi police and deported. While speaking at an event of the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association in Sialkot, Asif provided this information about the arrest of Pakistani beggars in Saudi Arabia. However, he did not specify the time frame for this figure.

According to a report by Dawn, Khawaja Asif also said that there are about 22 million beggars in Pakistan, who collect 42 billion rupees every year as alms. However, the increasing number of beggars in foreign countries is tarnishing the image of the country. He stated that the government is taking steps to improve Pakistan’s economy. The government’s aim is to establish Pakistan as a 100- billion-dollar export economy by the year 2035.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) informed the parliamentary committee last year that Saudi Arabia has sent back 4,000 beggars to Pakistan over the past three years, with a deadline of 2024. There are strict laws against begging in Saudi Arabia. Under these laws, beggars may face fines and imprisonment. Foreign beggars are sent back to their countries after completing their sentences.

An FIA officer said that most of the Pakistani beggars abroad are from South Punjab, Karachi, and the interior areas of Sindh. These beggars have been sent back from Arab countries. Upon their return to Pakistan, their names have been added to the FIA Immigration’s Passport Control List (PCL). Now, they cannot go outside Pakistan again.

The citizens begging in other countries are becoming a major problem for the Pakistani government. To mitigate the damage to the country’s image on a global scale, the Pakistani government has suspended the passports of thousands of individuals in recent months who have become beggars abroad. Particularly, most of the beggars caught in Arab countries are of Pakistani origin. As a result, Saudi Arabian countries have urged the Pakistani government to take measures to stop the influx of beggars
