Who is Awanish Sharan?
Awanish Sharan hails from Bihar and completed his preliminary education from a government school. He was not a bright student, and his academic performance was average. Awanish scored only 44.7 percent in class 10. In class 12th, Sharan was also to secure 65 percent. He also received a 60 percent graduation rate. Despite knowing that he was a mediocre student, Awanish wanted to become an IAS officer.
Failed Attempts
Awanish Sharan appeared for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) and Central Police Forces (CPF) exams but failed to pass them. He made 10 failed attempts in Bihar PCS prelims.
Notably, both Combined Defence Services (CDS) and Central Police Forces (CPF) exams are conducted by UPSC.
Success
Awanish Sharan’s initial attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination resulted in an interview invitation, but ultimately unsuccessful. He subsequently achieved a notable All India Rank of 77, joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 2009. He currently serves in the Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh.
