Yogesh Mehta is a prominent name in the chemical distribution industry. He is the founder and CEO of Petrochem Middle East. Mehta serves as a role model for many aspiring entrepreneurs, and his life story continues to inspire new generations. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from National College in Mumbai’s Bandra. After graduation, he joined his father’s chemical manufacturing business. In 2003, he pursued an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School.

In 1990, Yogesh Mehta’s chemical distribution business in India went bankrupt. During this challenging period, his wife played a crucial role in supporting the family. She started working as a teacher, ensuring their one-year-old son gets all the essential items, while Mehta sought a new beginning in Dubai.

In Dubai, Mehta found new opportunities and with a new partner, he started building Petrochem. In 1995, the 35-year-old founded Petrochem Middle East. The company evolved into a successful business with a turnover of a million dollars. The large chemical storage facility at Dubai’s Jebel Ali port exports more than three million metric tons of chemicals each year to 27 countries.

Petrochem, under Mehta’s direction, has significantly grown, expanding into international trading and logistics with a turnover surpassing 1.5 billion. His son, Rohan, joined the company more than ten years ago and now serves as Director of Business Development, contributing to the company’s global expansion and diversification efforts. Mr. Mehta is also recognised for his charitable work, notably his contributions to the Abu Dhabi Hindu Swami Narayan Temple.
