PSL 2025: Babar Azam Trolled By Iceland Cricket With Popular Phrase After Another Batting Failure
Babar Azam’s poor run in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 has sparked criticism from all corners and even Iceland Cricket couldn’t resist joining the banter. The cricket board, known for its sharp wit and humor on social media, took a jab at the former Pakistan T20I captain following another disappointing outing with the bat.
Reacting to a video of Babar’s latest dismissal, Iceland Cricket tweeted, “Class is temporary, form is permanent,” flipping the popular phrase to troll the out-of-form star.
Babar Azam's form in PSL 2025
The dig came after Babar managed just 2 runs in Peshawar Zalmi’s latest game, continuing a horrid stretch where he has scored only 3 runs in three innings. His campaign began with a duck against Quetta Gladiators, followed by scores of 1 and 2 .
Babar’s form slump couldn’t have come at a worse time. Having already been dropped from the T20I squad for the New Zealand tour due to lackluster performances, PSL 2025 was seen as a key opportunity for him to make a strong comeback. Instead, his lean patch has only grown more visible.
Peshawar Zalmi win despite Babar's poor form
Despite Babar’s failure at the top, Peshawar Zalmi bounced back in style. After early wickets, their middle order fired to post a mammoth 227 against Multan Sultans. The bowlers then dismantled the opposition for just 107, sealing a thumping 120-run win — Zalmi’s first of the season.
Currently placed fifth, Zalmi face tough assignments ahead against Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Quetta. Meanwhile, Multan continue to struggle at the bottom, and Islamabad United top the table with three wins in as many games.
