National Herald Case: Congress Yuva Morcha Workers Protest Outside Mumbai's ED Office Over Chargesheet Against Rahul And Sonia Gandhi; FIR To Be Registered (VIDEO)

Mumbai: Around 3 PM on Saturday, 15–20 workers of the Congress Yuva Morcha staged a strong protest outside the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Mumbai at Ballard Estate, which was closed due to a public holiday. The protest was held in response to a chargesheet filed by the ED against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

During the protest, the workers raised slogans and recorded a video, which was later circulated on social media. Taking cognisance of the incident, Mumbai Police has begun the process of registering an FIR at the MRA Marg Police Station.

The protest was organised to oppose the recent chargesheet filed by the ED in a case involving alleged financial irregularities and money laundering. Congress workers have alleged that the ED’s action is part of a political conspiracy by the central government to target opposition leaders by misusing central agencies. Through this protest, the Youth Congress voiced its anger, claiming the chargesheet is politically motivated.

According to Mumbai Police, the protest occurred around 3 PM, when the ED office was shut due to the holiday. The office gate had been secured with a chain by a security guard, but despite that, 15–20 Youth Congress workers gathered outside, raising slogans against the ED and the central government. The workers also recorded a video during the demonstration, which was shared widely on social media in an attempt to make it go viral.

Mumbai Police is treating the unauthorised protest seriously. Officials stated that an FIR will be registered against the protesters at the MRA Marg Police Station. Appropriate legal action is being initiated, although the specific sections under which the case will be filed have not yet been confirmed.

Pravin Munde, DCP Zone -1, stated, "15-20 protesters did the agitation at ED office at around 3pm. ED office was closed due to holiday today. Security Guard there additionally had locked the gate with a chain. Offence is being registered in MRA Marg police station and further necessary action is being taken."
