Air hostess sexual assault case: Accused watched porn before crime, say cops
The accused technician in the case of an air hostess’ sexual assault at Medanta Hospital had watched pornographic content before and after committing the crime, the police have said after reviewing search history on the accused’s mobile phone. The police produced the accused before a city court on Thursday, after which he was sent to judicial custody.
The police said the accused used to watch pornographic content habitually.
He has confessed to the crime. The footage from CCTV cameras installed at the hospital confirm that the accused went near the victim at the time of the incident.
According to the police, the accused — 25-year-old Deepak, a native of Badhauli village in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, who was living in Gurugram — had been working as a treatment machine technician at the ICU of the hospital for the last five months.
A 46-year-old air hostess, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by the hospital staffer while on ventilator at the ICU of Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital, had claimed that two nurses were present in the room during the incident, but did nothing to stop it.
On April 5, she was admitted to the hospital. She was discharged last Sunday.
After being discharged from the hospital, the air hostess told her husband about the incident, and lodged a complaint at the sadar police station here.
A case was registered under sections 64 (rape) and 68 (sexual intercourse by a person in authority) of the BNS at the sadar police station here in this regard.
