Bhopal: Notorious Criminal, Roaming After Changing Appearance Nabbed With SUV, Knife

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Shahjehanabad police on Saturday arrested a notorious externed criminal who was roaming in the city in a rented SUV (Thar) after changing his appearance.

A knife was recovered from the criminal who is a co-accused in abduction and torture of a minor in MP Nagar area, police said.

Shahjehanabad police station Umesh Pal Singh Chauhan said a youth in a SUV tried to flee during vehicle checking drive but was chased and nabbed. He was identified as externed criminal Mohd Arham (22) of Itkhedi area. A knife concealed inside the vehicle was seized by police.

Arham was produced before the court and was taken on remand by MP Nagar police for questioning into the case of abduction and torture of a minor. Chauhan informed that Arham and his brother Anas are notorious criminals. Arham has 26 cases registered against him at different police stations of Bhopal and has created reign of terror in areas under Zone-3. It is suspected that Arham rented the SUV to commit heinous crime.

Criminals who torched a scooter nabbed by cops

Tila Jamalpura police on Saturday arrested key accused involved in torching a scooter to avenge a slap. The prime accused Sahil (23) who was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 was on the run while his two aides were earlier arrested by police. Sahil was externed by Hanumanganj police but he was still in the city, police said.

According to reports, Sahil and his aides Shabbar and Owais had torched Scooty of Faraz at Nagar Nigam Colony on April 16 as he had slapped Sahil some days back. Shabbar and Owais were arrested earlier but Sahil was evading arrest. On Saturday, police team nabbed Sahil from a house in Qazi Camp area following a tip off. A knife was also recovered from his possession, police said.
