Medanta rape case: Accused watched porn videos before and after assault, says police
The accused technician in the air hostess sexual assault case at Medanta Hospital here had watched porn videos before and after committing the crime. This is confirmed by the search history of the accused’s mobile phone.
The accused was produced in a city court today and later sent to judicial custody. The police confirm that the accused was in a habit of watching porn videos, and the accused confessed to the crime.
According to the police, the accused, 25-year-old Deepak, a native of Badhauli village in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, and presently living in Gurugram, was an average student. After completing his BSc OTT (Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre Technology) from a private institution between 2019 and 2022, he had been working as a treatment machine technician in the ICU of the hospital for the past five months.
The victim, 46-year-old air hostess, claimed that two nurses were present in the room during the incident but did nothing to stop it.
After being discharged from the hospital on April 13, the air hostess told her husband about the incident and lodged a complaint at the Sadar police station. A case was registered under Sections 64 (rape) and 68 (sexual intercourse by a person in authority) of the BNS.
Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora on Thursday had formed a special investigation team (SIT) led by DCP (Headquarter) Dr Arpit Jain that finally arrested the accused on Friday.
