Indore School Timings Revised: Nursery To Class 8 To End By 12 PM Amid Heatwave
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indore District Collector Asheesh Singh, on Saturday, issued an order directing all schools to conclude by 12 pm, in view of the rising temperatures and increasing risk of heat-related illnesses.
As per the new directive, all classes from Nursery to Class 8 will not be held after 12 pm starting immediately.
This decision has been taken to protect children from the harmful effects of extreme heat. The order applies to all government, private, and aided schools operating under various education boards, including CBSE and MP Board.

The official X handle of Collector Indore shared the notice with the direction, “Class Timings Changed in Indore Due to Rising Heat. Collector Mr. Ashish Singh Issues Orders. No Classes from Nursery to Class 8 Will Be Held After 12 pm.”

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav had also written to the Collector urging steps to safeguard children from the heat.
The order will remain in effect until further notice. All schools are expected to follow the instructions strictly.
This move highlights the administration’s priority to ensure the health and safety of students during extreme weather conditions.
Ujjain, Gwalior administration changed schools timings
Additionally, other district administrations including Ujjain, Gwalior and Rajgarh also revised school timings of respective areas to protect children from rising temperatures.
Ujjain district’s school timings changed to 7:00 am - 12:00 pm from April 8 onwards, whereas, Gwalior school timings were set to 7:30 am to 1:30 pm on April 4 onwards.
All government and private schools in the state, affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, MP Board, and other education boards, are operating till 12:00 pm - 1 pm (maximum) at present.
