Inside Shark Tank's Former Judge & Mamaearth's Co-Founder Ghazal Alagh's Luxurious Home

Ghazal Alagh, co-founder of MamaEarth and a familiar face from Shark Tank India, continues to inspire with more than just her business acumen. Tucked away in a serene neighborhood, the Alaghs' residence is a blend of warmth, style, and function. But it’s more than just an elegant space, it’s a lively, lived-in home bustling with energy. With two playful kids and a dog who keeps them on their toes, Ghazal jokingly admits there are 'zones' in the house they prefer to avoid during the day.

Alongside her husband, Varun Alagh, the couple recently opened their doors to Brut India, offering a rare look into their vibrant home and the life they’ve built together.

Adding a unique charm is the fact that the home shelters four generations under one roof. From her grandmother to her children, Ghazal says this shared living experience creates a deep sense of rootedness and emotional connection.

Before the MamaEarth journey began, Ghazal was immersed in another world, art. A trained artist from the New York Academy of Art, she hasn’t left that passion behind. Her love for painting is evident in the artwork that adorns the walls. 'You’ll always find horses, birds, or musical instruments in my pieces, she says, adding that there’s a recurring theme of balance in her work, 'everything is in pairs.'

A Journey from Cozy Corners to Carefully Crafted Spaces

Though their current home is thoughtfully designed and spacious, the couple often reflects on where it all started. Their first apartment was a modest 600 sq. ft. space in Bandra, Mumbai. "You walked in, and you could already see the end of the room," Ghazal recalls with a laugh. But that tiny home held big memories. “We cried when we moved out,” she shares, describing how special that chapter was in their relationship.

Now, their home mirrors their evolution, not just as entrepreneurs, but as parents, partners, and individuals who’ve grown through shared experiences.

Fitness, wellness & everyday rituals

Despite their busy schedules, the Alaghs carve out time for wellness. Ghazal is a fan of yoga and running, while Varun, always one for fun, zips around the house on his Segway. “He literally glides through even the smallest spaces,” she laughs.

Their wellness practices extend into the kitchen too. As she brews her favorite cup of tea, Ghazal talks about a homemade mix she swears by—saunf (fennel), elaichi (cardamom), and a blend of other herbs that combine flavor with health benefits.

Grounded by gratitude

In the end, what stands out most isn’t just the beauty of their home, but the spirit that fills it. Despite their success, Ghazal and Varun remain deeply grounded. Their home tells the story of their journey, from a cozy apartment filled with dreams to a sanctuary of love, laughter, and ambition. It’s not just a house, it’s a reflection of who they are, where they came from, and everything they continue to build together.
