New Delhi. An elevated road project was conceived 13 years ago to reduce the traffic burden in areas like Sector 57, 58, 59, 65 and Mamura of Noida. It remained in limbo since 2012, however, now preparations for its construction have intensified. In fact, the Noida Authority has approved the elevated road project above the Master Plan I Road from DND Flyway to Sector 57/58. Authority officials gave this information. The special thing is that with the construction of this elevated corridor, the movement of traffic in the congested areas of Noida will become easier. The special thing is that the travel time is expected to be reduced from 40 minutes to just 10 minutes.
The elevated road project was awaited since 2012
The idea of this project first came in 2012 and its foundation stone was laid in 2015 by the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. But, since then the project has been hanging in the balance. Now, Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M has given its in-principle approval. He informed that a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared soon, for which IIT-Roorkee has been engaged to prepare the DPR and it will be submitted in six months.
The DPR report will include details like route survey, cost estimate, entry/exit, etc. The CEO said, “We will take the project to the next stage after IIT Roorkee submits the DPR. The project has been approved in principle as part of the plan to decongest the city roads.
At that time, the starting point of the elevated road project from DND Flyway to Sector 57 was proposed to be DND Flyway and the end point would be Sector 57 intersection.
