This is the story of one such famous actor who holds a special place in his audience’s heart. However, it was not easy for him to reach where he is today. He had a childhood riddled with struggles. But, that did not deter him to not make efforts to change is fate. The actor in focus is Arshad Warsi.

Sold Cosmetics, Became a Dancer And Then A Successful Actor

Arshad Wari was born in a Muslim family in Mumbai. His father was a poet from Punjab, Lahore. Hence, Warsi could speak Punjabi and Urdu. Fate was not very kind to him during early days in his life. He lost both his parents by the time he was 16-17 years of age. The financial situation was not at its best. Hence, a young Warsi took it in his hands to provide for himself.

He would do odd jobs to meet the ends meet. This, reportedly, included selling cosmetics in buses plying from Bandra, working at photo labs etc. “We were always told stories that there was some renovation going on there, and we would stay here for a few days, then go back. I would go back and forth, and each time the house would get smaller. It was basically a cycle of difficulties that didn’t seem to end. Then, my parents passed away when I was very young, around 16-17 years old,” said the actor on the reality show Jhalak Dikhlaja.

Warsi further said,  “I brought myself up, connecting the dots and fighting my way through life. It wasn’t an easy life. And you know what, I look at life from a different perspective. If my life had been easy, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it.”

Meanwhile, he built an affinity towards dance and started choreographing. He choreographed from movies like Thikana (1987) and Kaash (1987). Then he also won competitions, World Dance Championship in 1992 and soon opened his own dance academy as well.

His got an opportunity to choreograph the title track for the film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) and it was then when he was offered a role for a movie. His film debut was in an Amitabh Bachchan production, ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ that was released in 1996.

Eventually, he turned ab actor. He was appreciated for his performance in Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet along with Ajay Devgn. After essaying characters in few films, his life changed after one iconic role -black kurta and gold chains- aka Circuit from Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. 

He is famous for his comedy roles and now has taken over genres where his versatility is visible at its finest.
