In a major move by one of India’s IT giants, Infosys on Thursday announced that it has acquired the technology and business consulting firm MRE Consulting for USD 36 million (approx. Rs 3,073,808,160). The company declared a definitive agreement to acquire MRE Consulting through its wholly owned subsidiary, Infosys Nova Holdings LLC, in an all-cash deal.

This acquisition is likely to close during the first quarter (April-June) of Financial Year 2026.

“Upto $36 million, including upfront and earnouts, excluding management incentives, and retention bonus,” Infosys’s regulatory filing read.

Infosys’s recent acquisition enhances its trading and risk management capabilities, particularly within the energy industry.

“Headquartered in Houston, Texas, MRE Consulting will bring a team of over 200 professionals with industry knowledge, consulting and deep technology experience in Energy/Commodity Trading and Risk Management (E/CTRM) platforms and ecosystems,” the filing read.

Texas-based MRE Consulting was founded in 1994. It focuses on providing technology and business consulting services to the Energy & Utilities, Services, and Healthcare industries.

According to Ashiss Kumar Dash, EVP & Global Head – Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy, and Sustainability, Infosys, “By combining MRE Consulting’s deep E/CTRM capabilities with Infosys’ established leadership in the energy, resources and utilities sector, we are further enhancing our ability to drive value for our clients in this critical area of their business.”
