Andhra Pradesh: Pawan Kalyan Distributes Footwear In Entire Village After Spotting Barefoot Women

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan arranged for footwear to be distributed to every resident of Pedapadu village after he saw several women walking barefoot during his recent tour of the region.

The incident took place during Kalyan’s two-day visit to Araku and Dumbriguda areas, where he was engaging directly with locals to understand their everyday struggles. While interacting with villagers in Pedapadu, he noticed an elderly woman named Pangi Mithu and several others without footwear, as per a report on ANI. Moved by their plight, the Deputy CM immediately asked for the total population of the village.

Upon learning that Pedapadu is home to around 350 people, Kalyan instructed his team to ensure that everyone received a pair of slippers. The footwear was quickly arranged and distributed to all residents, sparking an emotional response from the village.

“Our Pawan sir came and recognised our struggles,” one resident said with tears in his eyes, as per a report on ANI. Villagers expressed immense gratitude, stating that no leader had ever shown such concern for their well-being. Residents of the broader Dumbriguda Mandal also joined in thanking Kalyan's action.

This initiative comes as part of Pawan Kalyan’s larger outreach program across Alluri Sitarama Raju district, though his tour was temporarily disrupted following a fire accident involving his son at a school in Singapore, as reported by India Today. After visiting his son and assisting his recovery, Pawan Kalyan came back to Andhra and continued with the outreach programme.

Meanwhile, the Jana Sena Party, led by Kalyan, also made headlines recently for supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill introduced in Parliament. The Deputy CM had directed party MPs to vote in favour of the bill.
