Meet actor who earned Rs 2200 crore in 5 years, beat Prabhas, Salman Khan, his name is…, not Allu Arjun, Ranbir Kapoor, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Vijay, Rajinikanth
Over the past two years, superstars like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan have ruled the box office and earned huge collections. However, there’s one actor, not yet a leading star, but still his films have grossed more than the above mentioned stars. And the interesting part is he holds the title of India’s shortest mainstream actor, with height that stands at just 4 feet 8 inches.
27-year-old Jaffer Sadiq has been working in the industry for five years and emerged as many directors first choice in Tamil industry. The dancer-turned-actor made his film debut in a small role in Kamal Hassan-starrer Vikram. The film was a box office success, garnering Jaffer a decent amount of recognition for his performance. Following that, he appeared in Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer, that was even a bigger hit. In 2023, he made his Bollywood debut with Atlee’s Jawan, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. His last on-screen appearance was in Varun Dhawan-starrer Baby John, that was directed by Atlee too.
In a brief career so far, Jaffer is known for portraying villainous roles and gangsters. Although, he has played small roles but his choice of films have been spectacular. His debut film, Vikram earned Rs 414 crore worldwide, becoming Kamal Hassan’s biggest hit. Following that, the Rajinikanth-starrer earned Rs 650 crore and became the highest grossing film of the year. Well, his Bollywood debut, Jawan, broke all records and grossed Rs 1150 crore. Overall his five films have earned over Rs 2200 crore at the box office so far.
During this period, not even superstars like Prabhas, Rajinikanth, Sunny Deol or Ranbir Kapoor have achieved such high box office numbers. The only actor ahead of him is Shah Rukh Khan, whose collective earnings from three big releases in 2023 were Rs 2600 crore.
