PM Awas Yojana: Notice received to vacate houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, panic among people

There has been a stir after 41 house owners of Indranagar Colony of Hapur received notices to vacate their houses. Many of these houses have been built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Nagar Palika claims that these houses have been built on the land of the pond. District Magistrate Prerna Sharma has started investigating the matter.

PM Awas Yojana: 41 families living in Indranagar Colony located at Syana Chaupla in Garhmukteshwar Tehsil of Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh have been given notice to vacate their houses. About a dozen of these houses are built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This notice has created panic in the area and people are afraid of losing their homes.

These notices were sent by the advocate of the municipality, in which it is alleged that people have illegally occupied the pond land. The total population of Indranagar Colony is about two thousand and people have been living here for 40 years. Many people have residential leases received in 1986.

Notice to vacate houses to 41 families

The victims say that the roads were built by the municipality. Along with the water tank, government taps and electricity were arranged. Along with this, house tax and water bill were also taken from the people living there. Now suddenly they are getting orders to vacate the house. Due to which these people are very upset.

The affected Urmila told that earlier there was a hut, then three installments were received under the PM Awas Yojana and a house was built. No officer ever told that this land belongs to the pond.

Meanwhile, Garhmukteshwar’s Executive Officer Mukta Singh said that they have not been asked to vacate the house, only documents have been sought. DM Prerna Sharma said that the matter is being investigated and all aspects will be looked into.
