Maha trader beaten, robbed in Sohna
A trader from Maharashtra was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and robbed after being called to Sohna, Gurugram, on the pretext of being provided plastic granules at a cheap rate.
According to a complaint filed by Shivaji Mahadev Sonav, a resident of Beed in Maharashtra, who operates a wire polishing business, on April 12, he saw a post on Facebook about wire polishing and plastic granules, after which he contacted the mobile phone number mentioned in the post. The person he contacted said his name was Mohit Jain, and called him Sohna for a business deal.
“When I reached Sohna on April 14, they took me to the Mewat area in a car. In a deserted area, 4-5 people were present in a house. They locked me in a room and beat me up. They snatched my gold chain, gold ring and Rs 10,000 in cash. They also forcibly transferred Rs 1.45 lakh from my account, and fled after throwing me out of their car near the Nirankari college in Sohna,” the victim said. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Sohna city police station under relevant sections of the BNS.
