Light rain brings relief from heat

Gusty winds accompanied by light rain brought temporary relief to the residents from heat in the evening.

The Meteorological Department has predicted mainly clear sky on Saturday, but partly cloudy weather with the possibility of thunder or rain on Sunday.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.7° Celsius, which was 2.4 notches above normal. As compared to yesterday, there was a rise of 0.7°C in the average maximum temperature today.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 21.5° Celsius, which was 0.2 degree above normal. As compared to yesterday, there was a rise of 1.1°C in the average minimum temperature today, said the department.

The MeT office has predicted that the maximum temperature in the city will drop by three degrees tomorrow and will rise by 1-2 degrees thereafter.
